2:30 PM Jummah
Asalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah,
At the core of the Muslim society is Salah. It is our primary avenue to connect with our Lord. Without Salah, our essential spiritual component won’t have the nourishment needed to sustain it. Without Salah, we cannot grow in our spiritual journey to our Lord.
At Muslim Family Center, one of our core values is inclusiveness. We aim to provide a welcoming and spiritually uplifting environment for all community members - including our elders, youth and sisters.
Unfortunately, due to the dismissal times of HCPS middle schools (3:10) and highschools (2:10), we have fallen short at facilitating Jumuah Salah for a core sector of our community. We want to fix that.
We are pleased to announce that starting this upcoming Friday (10/1), the Muslim Family Center will offer an additional Jumuah prayer at 2:30 PM throughout the year. This will provide our high school students enough time to come to Jumuah, and our middle school students can request a religious obligation exception to be dismissed from the last period of school to attend.
The jumuah will be open to the whole community, and we will double-down on our commitment to make the sermon relevant and spiritually uplifting.
We ask Allah to grant us and our families the gift of love of Salah.
Sincerely,
Sami
