MFC Qur’an Program-New Students

Before registering, please carefully read the description below to ensure the program fits your needs.

MFC offers six levels in our Qur’an Program: three levels of Noorani Qaida classes and three levels of Quran literacy classes. This session of modules will start on September 11th and run through December 22nd.

Level 1-Noorani Qaida

  • Description:

    • Starting from lesson 1 and ending typically at lesson 5 (except lesson 3)

  • Prerequisite: Age 5-15

Level 2-Noorani Qaida

  • Description:

    • Starting from Lesson 6 and ending typically at Lesson 11

  • Prerequisite:

    • Passing Test on Lesson 1-5 (except lesson 3) of Noorani Qaida.

Level 3-Noorani Qaida

  • Description:

    • Lessons 3, and 12 to 17 of Noorani Qaida

  • Prerequisite:

    • Passing Test on Lessons 6-11 of Noorani Qaida.

Level 3A-Quran Literacy

  • Prerequisite:

    • Completion of Noorani Qaida at MFC or passing a comprehensive evaluation on the Noorani Qaida.

  • Module Objectives:

    • Learn basic rules of tajweed and read words from Quran while applying learned skills from the Noorani Qaida.

    • Focus on reading Surah Baqarah or Almulk

  • To pass this level, students must be able to read one page of the Quran in under 5 mins with no language or Tajweed mistakes

Level 4-Quran Literacy Description:

  • Prerequisite:

    • Completion of level 3A or demonstrating the ability to read one page of the Quran in under 5 mins.

  • Module Objectives:

    • Learn basic rules of tajweed and read words from Quran.

    • Focus on reading Surah Almulk or Surah Baqarah

    • Memorizing Short surahs of Quran (Nas → Duha)

  • To pass this level, students must be able to read one page of Quran in under 5 mins 30 seconds and memorize short surahs of Qur’an to support daily prayers.

Level 5-Quran Memorization Description:

  • Prerequisite:

    • Must be able to have basic fluency by reading one page of Quran in under 2 mins and 30 seconds with minimal mistakes (including Tajweed), memorization of short surahs from the Quran (Nas → Duha)

  • Module Objectives:

    • Understand and apply the rules of Tajweed

    • Memorize Juzz ‘Amma following the rules of

Important Notes

  • The fees for these classes will be covered through four payments of 75$ or 125$ each. There is also a one-time $10 Material fee that will appear as a shipping fee when checking out.

  • Students will have a mandatory 5 to 10 break during the class and between classes. [Weather permitting, the break will be outdoors under a teacher's supervision].

  • The content of the program includes learning many skills in a short period of time, and some students may need to redo the same module more than once.

  • The price of books will be collected separately after assigning students to their classes. ordering the book is a complementary service we offer to help get things ready on time, and it is optional. You will be free to order your kid’s book or use old books that you have as long as they meet the Class’s requirements.   • If you find the class full, please join the waitlist. We admit new students throughout the year (at least 4 times a year). Registration will open again when we are admitting new students.

  • To ensure a fair chance for all community members to join the program, we are applying the following refunding policy: Withdraw before the first day of class: 100% refund.

    Withdraw during the first week of classes: 50% refund.

    Withdraw during the second week of classes: 25% refund.

    Withdraw after the second week: 0% refund.

  • If you cancel the subscription, we can not guarantee to hold your spot for future sessions as there will be a waiting list.

  • Starting this term, we are receiving support from volunteers. Those volunteers will work with kids who miss classes to ensure that catch up with their peers. Still, these extra sessions will be limited and offered based on demand. So, we ask that you work hard to minimize interruptions in your kid’s attendance.

  • When a kid records more than three unexplained and uncompensated absences from classes, the possibility of redoing the class will be discussed with the parents and the teacher.

Current Actions:

In accordance with the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Position Document on Infectious Aerosols, Maryland’s Roadmap to Recovery-Faith Based Recommendations, recommendations of Fiqh Councils, discussions with local masaajid, other local, state and federal guidelines on resumption of religious activities, MFC has implemented several modifications to the Musallah and rules for limited programming to better ensure the safety of our congregants:

  • Increased outdoor air ventilation

  • Improved central air and other HVAC filtration to MERV-13

  • Keeping systems running longer hours (24/7)

  • Added portable room air cleaners with HEPA filters to increase the clean air delivery r

Important Rules and Regulations (if you plan to attend an event/program at the Musallah please read in detail and familiarize yourself with the following):

The following rules to reopen the Musallah have been established. Safety officers will strictly enforce rules and turn away anyone who does not comply.

  • High-risk individuals should stay at home, 

  • Individuals who are sick (have fever, cough, runny nose, diarrhea, etc.) must NOT come to the Musallah. 

  • All persons must take their temperature prior to coming to the Musallah.  Temperature checks will be performed onsite.

  • Remove shoes in the garage prior to entering the facility.

  • Upon entering the facility, hands must be cleaned with hand sanitizer.

  • Masks must be worn at all times on Musallah property. Double masking is recommended by the CDC.

  • Strict adherence to the 6ft social distance must be followed at all times

  • Avoid contact with any public surfaces for everyone’s protection, including thermostats, light switches and fans.

  • Anyone who does not adhere to these rules will not be allowed to join future onsite programming.

  • The door between the Sunroom and Musallah must remain open at all times and congregants should not touch this door. 

  • Cameras are installed and video will be saved in case contact tracing is required. A smart lock is installed to restrict entry.

  • No consumption of food or drinks are allowed in the Musallah.

  • After the program concludes, please leave immediately and don’t congregate outside the Musallah
