Welcome to the MFC’S Afghan Family Support Program (AFSP).
Mission: To accelerate Afghan families’ journey to self-sufficiency and stability, by providing a welcoming environment for spiritual growth, nurturing a sense of purpose and belonging and facilitating access to the best resources.
How can you help?
HOUSING
We need rental properties or families willing to temporarily donate their basements to house each of the families. We are looking for immediately available walkout basements, apartments, condos, or homes.
DONATIONS
Monetary donations will meet the needs of the families beyond the 3 month government support.

JOBS & SERVICES
We want to help the families become self-sufficient by either teaching them a vocation/ marketable skill or linking them with potential jobs. We need to secure vehicles (via donations or low cost sales) to provide to families and help them become independent. We also need to help families sign up for health insurance, bank accounts, driver’s license, schools, etc. Some may require mental health support. MFC will also offer space and resources for families to meet together and build up their community.
MENTOR FAMILIES
“It takes a village.” We need several community families (all hands on deck) committed to support the new Afghan families in their day to day necessities. Each Afghan family will be paired with select community families to help them transition into their life here. Mentor Families will support spiritual growth by bringing families to Jummah, daily prayers, and MFC programs.
SUPPLIES
Alhamdulillah we closed out MFCs donation drive, focused on collecting general supply donations for Afghan Families. Thank you all so much for contributing and volunteering, may Allah swt bless us all.
This effort has been a big success, and the impact of all of your work and support can be seen directly - we have been delivering the collected supplies to local Afghan families, and will continue to do so. Now that we have met (and exceeded!) the initial need and goals that we had set, we can begin to focus on providing longer term community support to the Afghan families as they begin this transition period. There are many additional needs and volunteer opportunities and we can’t take these next steps without all of you.
