Position Summary
The Muslim Family Center (MFC) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Grants to lead the organization’s grant strategy and management. This key leadership role involves identifying funding opportunities, building relationships with grantmakers, writing compelling proposals, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. The Director of Grants will play a crucial role in securing the financial resources needed to support MFC’s vision of inspiring every Howard County Muslim to live Islam holistically, together.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Development and Strategy
Research and identify grant opportunities that align with MFC’s mission and programs.
Develop and implement a comprehensive grant strategy to achieve annual funding goals.
Build and maintain relationships with foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other funding organizations.
Grant Writing and Submission
Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding reports.
Collaborate with leadership, staff, and volunteers to gather data, success stories, and relevant content for proposals.
Tailor applications to meet the specific priorities and requirements of each grantor.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments at once.
Grant Management and Compliance
Monitor grant compliance, including reporting deadlines, deliverables, and budgets.
Work closely with the finance team and leads of the grant projects to track grant expenditures and ensure alignment with budgets.
Maintain accurate and organized records of all grant activities, submissions, and correspondence.
Partner with leadership and program leads to align grant objectives with organizational priorities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in flagrant writing and management, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
Proven track record of securing significant funding from foundations, corporations, and/or government agencies.
Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills with attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills and exercise good judgment, tact, confidentiality, and diplomacy in all interactions.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Proficiency in grant management software, CRM systems, or similar tools preferred.
Familiarity with the needs and priorities of Muslim and/or faith-based communities is a plus.

Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
