Muslim Family Center (MFC) is seeking a high energy, enthusiastic and detail-oriented Volunteer Coordinator Leader (VCL) to establish our Volunteer Management structure, run Volunteer operations, and build and supervise a team of Volunteer Coordinators to assist.

A successful VCL is someone with a strong work ethic who brings professionalism to their work. This person is a visionary, someone who believes in MFC's Vision and Mission, takes initiative and can work independently to research and establish best practices for Volunteer Management at MFC. A successful VCL is someone who is a people person and enjoys interacting with all members of the community and cultivating relationships.

The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about volunteer work, meticulous about keeping records and will uphold the values of our organization while working with Leadership and greater Community.

Position Details:

6 month part-time position, starting as early as Jan 31st, 2021 (Potential Opportunity to Extend)

Stipend is available, subject to experience 

Position reports directly to the MFC Exec. Director

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes Volunteer Opportunity Creation/Update Process: Proactively engages with MFC Leadership to understand needs and identify volunteer opportunities. Establishes a streamlined process for opportunity ideas to be submitted, vetted, documented, and approved prior to recruitment of talent.

  • Establishes Volunteer In-take process: Process should be a balance of automation (use of technology) as well as human connection (cultivating relationships and creating a welcoming experience).

  • Establishes Volunteer (Talent) data repository: Creates a central repository to collect volunteer information, availability, and skills.Prepares a personal data collection policy that is accessible to the community.

  • Trains and Supervisees Volunteer Team - Supervises their team that will be responsible for execution of the Volunteer management system and processes. This team will find fun ways to engage and show appreciation to the General Community Volunteer Base. Ensures team receives the proper training.

  • Establishes systems/processes to Monitor and track volunteer hours

  • Prepares and delivers a new volunteer training program

  • Prepares a code of conduct for the organization - one that that is visually appealing and accessible

Volunteer Coordinator Requirements:

  • Being present, self motivated and takes initiative

  • Experience in leading volunteers and/or recruitment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent organization and team building skills
