MFC Zakat.
The purpose of the Muslim Family Center is to serve the needs of our local Muslim brothers and sisters living in Howard County, MD. One way we do this is by distributing funds to those with financial hardships. MFC has a Zakat Committee consisting of dedicated and experienced members.

Note: In order to efficiently manage Zakat requests and distribution, the committee’s finances are run independently and operate for the sole purpose of the distribution of funds to the needy. Your donation to this cause is zakat-eligible, tax deductible, and is managed by unpaid volunteers within our community.

Apply for MFC Zakat Funding
If you need Zakat assistance, please follow these steps.
Step 1
Download and fill out the MFC Zakat Request form. Please make sure you fill out ALL fields as accurately and legibly as possibly to enable an efficient and fast review process inshAllah.
Note: The MFC Zakat Form requires that at least one community member must be a reference in support of the Request.
Step 2
If you have questions(s) call the MFC Zakat helpline (301-778-0185), briefly summarizing your need. A member of the Zakat committee will reach you as early as possible.
Step 3
Scan and send the completed MFC Zakat Form, along with clean and legible copies of your photo ID and supporting documents. Use one of the following methods:

InshAllah you will receive confirmation within 24 hrs from a member of the MFC Zakat Committee that we have received your request.
Step 4
The review process takes 48-72 hrs, or longer depending on if there is a need to verify any of the information you provide within the Zakat Request Form. Please be patient.
A member of the MFC Zakat committee will contact you via phone and email with confirmation if you qualify for Zakat Assistance and next steps to obtain fund distribution.
